Greetings to all saints, worldwide. You will be pleased to know, I think, that nothing can separate us from the love of God. And when Paul says "nothing" in Romans 8:38-39, he means it. He goes to great pains in these two verses to prove it.
It is of great value to us to have described for us everything that we are constantly saved from by the hour. Thus, Paul lists the things that could potentially separate us from the love of God, but that never will. Paul thinks of every nightmare that you can imagine. Then he blows up the nightmare. The fragments of the mare turn to day as sparkling shards of glory fall upon our heads like snowflakes in an eonian oven.
I wrote this ZWTF back on January 31, 2016, twenty-one days after arriving here in Ft. Lauderdale. I was uncertain, then, where I would live. I write so convincingly about these truths because I was living them. I had just lodged six months with my sister in Canton, OH, having arrived in Ohio from a year in Brazil and a harrowing personal relationship. Everything in my life was unsettled. It was at this time that I wrote this ZWTF 5.5 about the steadfast love of God. I desperately needed to
hear what I was putting to page.
I know you need it as well. We are all unsettled. What else can we be in an eon that so vitally opposes everything we think and everything we are in Christ? We are strangers in a strange land. There appear to be hundreds and thousands of things that can potentially separate us from the love of God, including thoughts occurring between our ears, and worries banging between the organs of our chest. But God is greater than all these. His Son was no stranger to any of it. We do not have "a high
priest" who is unfamiliar with our problems and pains. He lived and overcame them. And now, through Paul, He gives us the truth—the only truth—that can settle us in unsettled times and unsettled places.
Speaking of writing, I can feel my God-given powers returning. Because I have hired someone to typeset fifteen new (already written but not produced) books (thanks to you; thanks to the generosity of all the saints), I am now planning on finishing The History of the Universe. That, and one other book I feel pressed to write—one that focuses on the salvation of all.
In the meantime, Rodney Paris continues to turn dozens of my early talks into really entertaining and educational videos, and these will be coming to you every Sunday as Rodney and I perfect the presentation. Rodney is working tirelessly for your sake. He wants to get everything right.
In the meantime, thank you for causing me to continue this work. I am indebted to all of you. My success in heralding this Word is your success. I am no better than the encouragement, prayers and support that sustain me at home and push me into the field. We are producing fruit—both personal and in the proclamation God's Word—with every passing day. And this we will continue by the grace of the God Who designates us beforehand and calls us to these tasks, and to this glory.
I am remaining yours from the edge of the bottom of the Floridan peninsula,
—Martin
