Greetings, fellow believers.
One of the most tortured passages in Scripture is that in which Jesus warns His hearers how much better off they would be to lose an eye or a hand than to be "cast into hellfire." The mishandling of this passage by the mainstream translations has wreaked more societal havoc than is possible to calculate or comprehend. Too many inhabitants of the world either fear the terrors of "hell,"
or they rightly scoff at a god who apparently has no moral difficulty torturing billions for eternity, simply because they refuse to like him. Only the deluded cultists of the Christian religion can swallow the elephant-sized incongruity of a loving god capable of eternal hate, and still sleep at night.
At the invitation of some believers in Palm Bay Florida, I made a few (not sure how many) 30-minute radio broadcasts and sent them off to Christian radio station WMEL in Melbourne, Florida. I believe this was the spring of 1996. In this offering, I prove that the translation of the Greek word "gehenna," into "hell" is responsible for the aforementioned tragedy. To understand what Jesus
REALLY said to the Israelites hearing His words, opens up a world of practical truth and dispels the unscriptural nightmare that is eternal torment.
Thanks again to Rodney Paris of Texas who has lifted this broadcast out of the audio-tape archive, digitized it, and put it to watchable video. This teaching of the truth of Gehenna could not, in my humble opinion, be clearer. Please send this video to anyone you know who struggles with the "love you today, torture you tomorrow" monster-god of the world's largest
cult.
Remaining yours with love from the Floridan peninsula,
—Martin
