In March of 1996 I was invited to speak at the Ladies Literary Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I used the opportunity to fill in a very important part of the Sin Series (this is part seven of eight) describing a man who was taken into the third heaven (our apostle Paul) where he saw and heard things so high that, upon his return to earth, God had to inflict him with a splinter in the flesh (a messenger of Satan) to keep him humble.
What was that splinter? Most assume it was a physical infirmity. I contend that this is practically impossible.
In Part Eight I reveal, specifically, what I think Paul's splinter was, but here I introduce the topic, surmising via Scripture and God-given logic that only some sort of moral affliction (i.e. "sin") could have humbled this man enough to keep him from thinking he was a small "g" god. No mere physical infirmity could have been up to that task.
To finish off this wonderful presentation, Rodney resurrects a video from the "Return to Zender" archives that, truly, is a jaw-dropping revelation in its own right. As members of Christ's body, we are destined to rule both heaven and earth. This revelation is so high that you may require a drink afterward. You will rarely hear truth like this.
Once again, thanks to Rodney Paris, who gets it right every time. You would not be seeing or hearing these twenty-five year-old messages were it not for him.
With all thanksgiving, from the edge of the bottom of the Floridan peninsula,
Martin
