Paul had to remind the Roman ecclesia that any national advantage today is enjoyed temporarily at the expense of Israel. Israel is the rightful ruler of earth, but she has temporarily stumbled. Has
she stumbled so as to fall? No. All nations today besides Israel are on borrowed time. You can't "count out" Israel, because God will graft her back to the olive tree of world rulership, to which she is native. Other nations besides Israel are a wild graft—miraculously sustained by God in spite of their unnatural and temporary role as lights of the world.
