Good morning, saints in Christ Jesus. This ZWTF classic may be one of the best things I've ever written. It's short but sweet. I wrote it a year ago—but that's enough about me. This article highlights how fascinated God is with His Son Jesus Christ, and how little He is impressed with our little feats of religious asceticism. Our little feats of religious asceticism are so embarrassing to God that He rolls His eyes at them. He yawns and is so bored with us that He then (with great relief)
turns His eyes to His Son instead, the One suffering and dying on a Roman stake for the sake of eliminating our sins.
Yes, we do want to please God, but we must realize that the proper pleasing of Him comes from a sense of gratitude for what He has already done for us, not from a sense of, "Here is what I must to do to be acceptable to God."
MEETING THIS WEEKEND
I remind you that the meetings this weekend are in Mansfield, MO. The nearest airport is Springfield. The main event will be on Saturday, October 24, at Basil Springs Wedding and Venue Barn in Mountain Grove, MO. Yes! We are meeting in a barn. But it is a very nice barn; I've seen photos. I am told by Michael Knotts that this venue is very near to the Royal Inn in Mountain Grove, where a lot of folks are lodging. If you book and mention that you are with the Mike Knotts conference, I think
you will receive a discount. Don't quote me on that. The number of the Royal Inn is (417) 926-3152.
For more details about any aspect of the conference, please text Michael at (417) 849-7566.
PLEASE NOTE: On Friday evening, October 23, there will be an informal meet-and-greet at the home of Michael and Marsha Knotts. You can arrive there at 5 pm. I will be there with Manfred Jones and another friend at around 7 pm.
MEET US AT THE AIRPORT IF YOU ARE SO INCLINED
Our flight arrives in Springfield at 5:40 p.m. via American Airlines; hell, if you want to meet us at the airport, that would be fun, too. We arrive at the Springfield-Branson National airport (SGF) on American Airlines Flight 3868 on Friday, October 23, out of Charlotte. Or, you can just connect with us at Michael's home that evening; either way, it's gonna be fun. Michael's address is: 2797 Smith Rd., Mansfield, MO, 65704. We will probably have a couple of speakers on Sunday morning at
the venue, but then after that I will be at Michael and Marsha's place for the rest of the day, so come back to the house for fellowship on Sunday. I will be available all day.
I hope to see everyone there!
In the meantime, enjoy the following writing and pass it along to your friends and family.
Remaining yours from the edge of the bottom of the peninsula,
