Paul had little care for the fact that he could die at any moment via his announcing of the evangel. Compare this to most people today, who go to insane and generally ineffective lengths to preserve their own existence. The extent to which one either holds loosely to or guards with silly amounts of dubious protection his or her own life, speaks to either a confidence or a wholesale doubting of the resurrection and the power of Christ to lavish it upon the human race.
