I had not heard this audio since the late '90s. It was recorded in 1996. It always surprises me each week to see what Rodney comes up with. As I settled in to listen, I thought to myself, "Okay, here we go with the sin issue. I've done this a thousand times." But as I listened, I heard things that I have neither heard nor said in a long time. The more I listened, the more amazed and
pleased I was with the presentation. I thought to myself, "NO ONE ever hears teaching like this."
Well, few people do anyway. Here is a rare, true take on Romans, chapter 6. Nearly every Christian on the planet and every professional expositor upon the Bible thinks that Romans chapters 6 through 8 are about how to avoid sinning. Oh, how Christians love this misconception, as they are all anxious to outdo one another in the law department. According to these so-called believers
and expositors, Paul's letter to the Romans is but law revamped. It's the Law of Moses with a first-century makeover.
Nothing could be further from the truth. For in these three chapters of Romans, Paul is not instructing anyone in how not to sin. Rather, he is instructing them on what to do about sin once it manifests itself. This changes everything. Romans 6,7, and 8 are defenses against Satan, who would attempt to basically nullify the cross by engaging people with their sins in spite of Christ
taking away these sins and God declaring believers to be justified. (Satan and Christianity have much in common in this regard.) Hardly anyone understands what justification is. Justification is constantly demoted to pardon status. Justification is thought to be pardon with a bunch more letters added.
I am very happy with this audio, and also with the fine video and the anchoring text frames added to it by our friend in Texas, Rodney Paris. It is REALLY DIFFICULT to do what Rodney does. It takes a lot of time. Rodney receives no renumeration for his work. It is truly a labor of love. He does it for me, for his Lord and Savior, and for you, the body of
Christ.
This video is revolutionary. Please copy and paste it to as many people as you can. It is not too many videos of which one can say, "This will change your life," but here is a video that truly will.
