Dear Fellow Believers,
Here is a follow-up video to Bud McDivitt's testimony last week from a place of Job-like
trial.
One of the biggest burdens in this life is the constant stress of taking care of our bodies. Because of mortality coursing through our veins, these bodies must be incessantly fussed over to keep them from the grave; or at least from stinking and falling apart. Ignore your mouth for long, and bacteria will eat your gums. Ignore your diet, and you will contract diabetes, heart disease, or become
fat. Haircuts, pedicures, deodorants, toothpaste, hydration, nutrition, push-ups, cardio, enough sleep, too much sleep, vitamins C, D, and E, fiber, consistent bowel evacuation, MENTAL health; there is no end to the demands of these flesh-buggies that house that tiny flame known as the spirit of God.
The good news of today's video is that this deplorable situation is temporary. In October of 1997, I
delivered a talk in Fairview, SC, in which I compared Israel's temple tax (for the maintenance of their own religious system) to the continuous burden of maintaining our physical frames. As Israel will one day be freed from keeping their own house, so will we be freed from even having to THINK about the status and preservation of our bodies.
Thanks again to Rodney Paris for putting together an
engaging multi-media extravaganza. I had not heard this tape in twenty-five years, so what a delight it was to hear me talking to my two youngest sons in my home studio: Paul, 6 years old, and Luke, 10 years old. Those were the best days and years of my life.
Thank you once again, all of you, for your continued support of this work. I will never take your love and your financial assistance for
granted. It is YOU who are keeping this work going. Or should I say: God is keeping it going through you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, from the bottom of the Floridan peninsula.
The end is near, which to us will be the greatest beginning ever.
