Dear Fellow Believers,
This message is loaded. While listening to this again for the first time in 27 years, I'm a
little appalled at how much information I packed into this presentation. As I listened, my brain was strained just trying to keep up with myself. I tried to imagine my audience in Newport News, VA that day, many of whom had very little understanding, if any, of the eons. I think a few of them must have needed a drink afterwards.
However...
For an understanding of God's purpose, nothing is more important than an understanding of the eons. Without the realization that God is operating His purpose during a series of time periods (eons)—which has a beginning and an end—one will illicitly inject the concept of ETERNITY into temporary elements such as death, sin, discipline, and judgment. The result will be a short-selling Christ's sacrifice at Calvary; no mistake could be
worse.
I travelled to Newport News, Virginia, with my friend Jean Douglas, since deceased, in November of 1996. I was the only speaker at a three-day conference. Jean was about fifteen years my junior, but a dedicated co-worker in the furtherance of the evangel. He videotaped dozens of conferences between 1993 and 2001, and even spoke at a few. He was a great friend of my family and a welcomed
traveling companion on this trip. I miss him and look forward to seeing him again as the dead in Christ meet the living at the snatching away.
Thanks to Rodney Paris for the monumental effort it took to keep up with the bombarding nature of the information here. Rodney helps the modern viewer along with corroborating text frames and, as always, accompanying video. Thank you, Rodney—as
always.
And thanks also to YOU, my viewers, for your love and support over the years, without which I would have been discouraged to death on many occasions, and tempted to give up the work. Yet, because of you and the grace of God, the work continues.
Truth is timeless. I am happy to be able to bring you
this message recorded 27 years ago on a Marantz tape deck given to me in 1993 by the great Greek scholar and salvation-of-all believer Louis Abbot. I think his generosity, on the brink of his death from stomach cancer, has served the body of Christ well.
From the Floridan peninsula, with thanksgiving,
Martin
