Dear Fellow Believers,
The group in Kitchener, Ontario in the '90's was a straight-laced bunch. Leila Watts of Canada had
heard me teach in Willard, Ohio, and she recommended to the ecclesia in Kitchener to invite me to bring messages. One guy there ended up really despising me because he was a broken branch in the soft earth and I was "just a kid," but everyone else liked me. Since this introduction to the video is not about me, I will move on.
Paul's experience of the shipwreck recorded in Acts 27 provides for us a
great example of the absolute and relative viewpoints. The angel of the Lord told Paul that everyone on the ship would be saved. Moments later, Paul announced to the terrified mariners on the sinking ship, "Unless you remain on the ship, you cannot be saved." Is this a contradiction? No, of course not.
I use this famous event as a springboard (if you want to use it as a diving board, that's fine) to
discuss evangelism and fatalism.
Thanks again to Rodney Paris who diligently digitizes these twenty-five year audio cassette tapes and puts them to video. Rodney is a soldier for Christ. This work is hard and painstaking. I mean, Rodney takes every verse from the audio and makes sure it appears on-screen. Did I mention that this is hard and painstaking?
Thanks to all of you who have contributed to this work, especially in the last couple of weeks. I would not be here without you. You are fellow laborers together with me, in Christ. Many are hearing the truth because of the work that WE are doing.
In the grace of God, from the peninsula,
Martin
