Monday, May 31, 1999, was the first night we were ever on the radio. This is Hour 2. We pivot from Martha and Mary to being subject to evil government.
As this was live radio, a caller named Ken phones in to let us know that we ought to be saying and doing more to protest abortion clinics. Ken is a fighter of evil whereas we are those seeking to return good for evil in accord with Paul's gospel as explained in Romans 12:14-21.
Ken wasn't too happy about
it.
I had much more patience for opposers back then than I do today. Whether that's good or bad, I don't know. Actually, I think I over-tolerated Ken back in 1999. I still would let him talk today, but I would shut him down a lot sooner. My apologies for letting Ken talk too much.
I am ceaselessly thrilled
at the timelessness of these Grace Cafe messages. This one is especially relevant as we are approaching an election year here in the U.S. and political fevers are high. The remedy is the same today as it was then, as it was in Paul's day: "There is no authority except by God. Now those which are, have been set under God, so that he who is resisting an authority has withstood God's mandate" (Romans 13:1-2).
Rodney put an exciting intro (lots of images from back in the day) to these broadcasts, which brings them alive to a new generation of listeners. The great thing is: the old generation is enjoying these broadcasts all over again.
My thanks to all who help to support this work and to encourage the worker. God remembers your toil and sacrifice, and today, I recognize it before one and all.
You are fellow-laborers together with me in this important work.
Remaining yours from the edge of the bottom of the Floridan peninsula,
