Dear Fellow Believers,
This is the best presentation to send to someone who is even mildly disturbed by the existence of evil in a world owned by a sovereign God. Don't even bother sending it to a die-hard Christian. You'll be banging your head
against the wall. Send it to someone who is honestly questioning. Send it to the person who may still be in church but who is sitting at the end of the pew, eyeing the exit sign, looking for an excuse to vacate the premises.
In this presentation, we highlight the most sweeping verse in all of God's word: Romans 11:36— "All is out of, through, and into [God]."
Once again I say: What makes these presentations so compelling (this one in particular) is
that they were broadcast live on a mainstream Christian radio station. WCCD, Cleveland, honored our five-week contract, but management was so disturbed and threatened by us that they eliminated the program ("Summer Nights"—allowing local ministries to advertise their churches) that allowed us on the air.
This was the first week of our tenure. Before commandeering Studio B, we listened to other presenters. It went along the lines of, "Tell the people about our bus ministry,
Steve," and "We decided to purchase a new building in 1995," and "Our worship team has the best acoustic guitarist in Northeast Ohio." We were appalled. NO ONE was heralding the glories of God and Christ. It was either a commercial for the church or denomination, or pleas to "get saved before it's too late"—which ended up being a commercial for the church or denomination.
No one had ever done what we were planning to do—and did do over five weeks in the summer of 1999. And
again, what we did was so disturbingly effective that the station eliminated, for the eon, the "Summer Nights" program, unwilling to take the chance that any group like us would ever again hijack their station to expose and explode the traditions of men.
At first, our producer Ricardo Johnson would barge into Studio B during commercial breaks and at the end of the show, his Bible open, putting up objections to the truths we heralded. But by the fourth week, Ricardo was
merely tolerating us. He would be in the control room watching Cleveland Indians baseball games. The quality of our sound suffered in the last two weeks because of this, but we were suffering evil for the evangel. Ricardo never did "get" us. He was a seminary graduate and beginner sound engineer with absolutely no antenna for what we heralded. Our show was a nuclear submarine and Ricardo was a deep-sea mollusk wondering what the hell had just passed overhead. Poor guy, really. But he was at the
same time sweet.
I love this particular show. Thanks to Rodney Paris for breathing new life into the twenty-four year-old cassette tape. And then, being the audacious man that he is, Rodney tags at the end a "Return to Zender" episode that I broadcast from Queens, NY, in 2018, called "How to Handle Demons." I forgot all about this one, but boy was it fun watching it again. It's wild and wooly; you're going to love it.
Thanks to all of you who support
this work, and have supported it over the many years. You're backing the right horse. Because of you, this channel has 3.5 million total views. The last time I looked it was 2.5 million. How the last million tallied up so quickly is due to you sending these broadcasts far and wide. Ladies and gentlemen, social media is the new Mars Hill. Keep it up; it's working. Your evangelism and your financial support is what keeps this train rolling to the station at the far end of Eon 3. Jesus Christ is
the engine of the train. He is pulling us along to glory—in the meantime sprinkling with truth those He has pre-determined to hear. Thank God for His indescribable gratuity.
I am remaining your brother in Christ and servant in the Lord,
—Martin
