When our Lord met the Samaritan woman at the well, history was about to be made. This was the first human being to whom the Lord would reveal His Messiahship so directly. She ran into town to tell everyone.
It was a rare moment of pleasure for the Christ—to be believed. The disciples showed up with food and He said to them, "I have food to eat of which you are not aware" (John 4:32). In typical fashion the disciples asked, "Who brought You food?"
We experience similar pleasure when words of ours—words of eonian
life—are met with receptive ears. There is more nourishment for body and soul in such an experience than in ten trees of broccoli and an organic apple.
