Dear Fellow Believers,
It is so enjoyable and edifying for me to watch these videos made every weekend by Rodney Paris. The Grace Cafe broadcasts are a cherished memory. It's the joint effort-ness of it. The Grace Cafe broadcasts were a welcomed reprieve from what is generally a devastatingly lonely work.
This broadcast in
particular sees Denise Telep taking the lead, explaining the raison d'etre of Grace Cafe. I had not heard these words in twenty-five years, so they were new and mesmerizing to me. As I listened, I was pulled into the spiritual orbit of the Grace Cafe effort as though I were hearing about it for the first time. It thrilled me, really. The genuine spirituality of it was and is undeniable. No one hears words like these, ever, from any Christian broadcast.
Then Charlie Cronk took
the reins and in his classically gracious way directed all glory and honor to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Kurt Downing and Ken Pridemore took their turns, then it fell to me (as it always did and was intended to) to start the heavy lifting—too soon for my liking in this case, as I could have listened to Denise and Charlie for the whole hour.
The presentation in this broadcast of the Greek word "aion" and it's adjective "aionion" is so logical, so reasonable, and so
well-presented, that for anyone to not get it requires a hard-headedness that only God Himself could maintain.
Rodney's choice of tag-on video ("Something Extra") is indeed choice. Once again, I listened, enraptured. The reader must not form the opinion that it requires an egomaniac to say this. It's just that the words are so free and the spirit of God is so apparent (the truth is not only true but sensible and fun as well) that that I can watch myself detachedly, that is, I
can recognize the fact that God is simply using me—and could have used anyone but it just happened to be me. (But I must admit that I like this dude's hair and beard.)
Having said all this, I once again commend this Grace Cafe broadcast to you, thankful to God that it happened at all, thankful to Rodney Paris that it has been resurrected from analog hell, thankful to my sister Kelly for publishing it, and thankful to all of you for continuing to support a work that God is
clearly behind and it continuing to send out into a dark world.
From the peninsula,
Martin
