Pharaoh acted magnificently, decisively, and certainly faithfully upon Joseph's interpretation of his dream, spending millions of dollars building grain silos and appointing Joseph the administrator over banking one-fifth of Egypt's produce for seven years against seven years of coming famine—in accord with
Joseph's interpretation.
Think about the faith this took—upon the part of Pharaoh. Dedicating money and manpower and great discipline during the seven years when, really, nothing was happening, with nothing but the interpretation of a dream to lean upon. All in accord with the promise that seven years of famine were coming,
Lo, a greater than Joseph is here. Our dreams are not interpreted, but rather (and better) we have promises from the very mouth of God. Are these promises less sure to be realized than the dream of a heathen king? Let us, then, dedicate everything to this Word of God, in faith and in deed, against the coming fulfillment of all that God has said concerning us.
