It is evident that human beings have wills. It is not so evident that these wills are controlled ("influenced," if you like—same thing) from without. The religious crowd insisting on human free will have not one verse supporting their position. They produce verses showing people WILLING things, but none of
the verses address the source of the willing. When shown verses PROVING the source of the willing, they turn away; they do not wish to be educated on the topic. "We've got this settled in our minds; don't trouble us with the truth." That kind of thing.
Humans love thinking that they are their own independent deities. (A will that is free cannot be
influenced; not by God, not by Satan, not by anything; it must truly be independent.) They don't like it when you hold this up to their noses and make them smell it. (It's the reality that frightens them. Reality smells like dog poop to them.) They would rather be their own deities AND give lip service to the deity of God. Whenever this hypocrisy is pointed out, they invariably resort to the tried-and-true Christian deflection, "It's just a mystery."
Yeah. So is God saving self-glorifying hypocrites such as yourselves.
