The most humble member of the body of Christ has to be the apostle Paul, who not only invited others to pursue the high calling above, but who was disposed to the shipwrecked of faith, intent on pulling them above water that they might receive their reward at the dais of Christ.
The most stunning verse presented here is 1 Corinthians 9:17, where Paul distinguishes those who volunteer for the work from those who enter into it involuntarily. Those who volunteer get a wage; those who don't (Paul is the only one, by his own testimony) are less deserving of support than the volunteers. Incredible, I know, but this is what the man says.
Those pursuing the high calling above are to be mutually disposed to those who are not (Philippians 3:16), and those who are not should never think less of themselves, for God parts to each the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).
