A strange thing happens at the end of the thousand-years of peace: Satan is released from his jail and a bunch of malcontents far removed from the capital city get up a rebellion—under Satan’s leadership—and drum up a palace coup; they’re going to march to the Holy City and overthrow the righteous government
of Jesus Christ. Sound like a hair-brained scheme? “Stupid” is a better word for it.
And yet this action speaks volumes to the heart of humanity apart from the beautiful condition known as “no confidence in flesh” (Philippians 3:3). How does this rebellion end, and what does this say about any thoughts of the Millennium being the final installment of
God’s plan to become all in all (1 Corinthians 15:28)?
