In this Grace Cafe broadcast we present the truth of predestination, while at the same time reminding everyone, "We are not Calvinists." Why are we not Calvinists? Because Calvinists believe that God predestines people to eternal torment.

Those religionists who insist upon free will fail to grasp that a will that is truly free must be free of all influence. Not a single action of the free will person can have a cause. If there is a cause for an action, then there is no free will for that action.

In this broadcast, I quote from a book called "Trusting God" by Jerry Bridges, which is really a book of insane propositions. Here, Bridges insists that God is in control of everything while at the same time insisting that every human has a free will. He realizes this is illogical, but covers his tracks by saying, "It's just a mystery." Truly, Bridges is one of the stupidest authors every to put words to paper.
