How many times have I heard it said of unbelievers: “Oh, they’re just ignorant,” or, “They’re just confused.” As though confusion and ignorance ought to excuse people from their unbelief because, well, “they just don’t know any better.”
But not knowing any better is deadly. To excuse ignorance and confusion is to trivialize Satan’s two greatest and most effective tools in his war against the knowledge necessary for membership in Christ’s body.
Let us never downplay either ignorance or knowledge. Because
the difference between ignorance and knowledge is the difference between eonian death and eonian life.
