Many believers have apologized to me over the years for not wanting to study or read their Bibles. They feel guilty for getting their "God fix" from watching my show. They think that, somehow, they're supposed to be working harder.
Yes, SOMEONE is supposed to be working harder here, but it's not the person allergic to complicated books yet desperately wishing to know God. It's the teacher. God raises up teachers in every era to efficiently communicate God's words and plans to eager listeners. It's the teacher who goes into the jungle with machete and mosquito repellant, emerging with a basket of juicy mangoes and a smile.
Not everyone is gifted with an aptitude for study. This is WHY there are teachers. Is the woman with a clogged drain ashamed that she's not a plumber? Is the man in need of a glass of wine ashamed that he's not a vintner? Very well, then.
