Greetings, fellow members of the body of Christ.
Human nature is not evil. That is the shocking truth discussed in great Scriptural detail in these ZenderTalks recorded in Greenwich, Ohio, in 2002.
I know how this truth bucks hard against the Christian lie that human nature is evil. Facilitating that lie is the unfortunate King
James mistranslation of 1 Corinthians 2:14, "The natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
Here, the King James Version pits the spiritual against natural, suggesting that one must do something UN-natural in order to receive the things of God. This started the ball rolling in the formation of monasteries and nunneries, places to which men and women could go to
beat down their natures down and become unnatural religious freaks. This bleeds over into the Christian religion at large, creating religious freaks of a less radical stripe but who still consider many natural human urges to be sin.
The solution comes at the translation level, appreciating how the Concordant Version of the New Testament, for instance, recognizing that the Greek word "phusikon" ("natural") does NOT appear in 1 Corinthians 2:14, but rather the word "psuchikon,"
which is consistently translated, "soulish." So it is not the natural man that is screwed in the God department, but rather the man who is ruled by his senses rather than by the spirit of God.
These are short, hard-hitting truth bombs, delivered at beginning and end with some hard rock-and-roll, carefully chose by Rodney Paris as the perfect entry and exit for rock-and-roll truth.
My Friday show of this week of ZenderTalk was called "Frothy Friday," and it's
a rat-a-tat exclamation point to the entire week. Don't blink; you'll miss it. But you're going to love it.
Rodney tacks on a "Something Extra" MZTV broadcast from two years ago explaining that sin is caused, not by human nature, but by a human nature that has been hijacked by mortality. You see, it's not human nature that's bad, but rather the mortality that has infected it. When mortality disappears at the coming of immortality, human nature is released from its captor to do
what God perfectly designed it to do.
This is important stuff.
Thanks to all of you who have supported and continue to support this work. You are all fellow-soldiers with me in this information war against the lies of Satan. I appreciate from the bottom of my heart your contributions that help keep me going, which in turn keeps the work going.
