Were it not for Christ’s faith in letting go of His life and the fulfillment of His Father’s promise to raise Him to immortality, our faith would be shattered. We are unaware, I believe, of what a comfort and assurance it is to have a Forerunner, a Firstborn from among the dead. This, He did not have.

I have been speaking of Christ’s faith post-Bethleham, but what about His faith before joining us in the valley of the shadow of death? Could it have been an even greater faith that that exercised in giving up His life at Calvary?
