A devastating letter from a fellow-believer puts us face-to-face with someone burned alive. Would being literally set on fire force Christians to at last confront the heinousness of their teaching and denounce the destructive, evil teaching of eternal torment? Yes, I believe it would.
My recent surgical experience viscerally connected me to the arrest, isolation, and torture of Christ by the nations and by Satan himself. It is experiences like this that change us. If Christians, holding to the most evil teaching ever to exist, are never literally put to the fire in this life and blithely go on believing their fantasy teaching of eternal
divine torture, they will, at the great white throne, receive the fury, affliction, and indignation necessary for a change of mind.
In either case it will be the work of God—and it will be right on time. At the consummation of the eons, every being in the universe will have unhanded the lie of eternal torment. The decks of deception will have been
cleared via one visceral experience or another, either in this life or at God's Great White Throne.
