I answer another question today from a man struggling with the sovereignty of God: If God is doing everything, why should we "interfere" with what God is doing? This is like asking, since God sends the rain, why are we all buying umbrellas to stay dry? Why are we using our windshield wipers? Aren't these an
insult to the God Who sends the rain? How dare we interfere with His plans?
These questions assume that what God is doing now He intends to continue to do ten seconds or even ten years from now. It assumes that God's will is stagnant. It assumes that the impulses God gave us not only for self-preservation but to help our fellow humans—are to be
completely ignored because "God is in control of the universe."
The illogic of these considerations ought to be obvious on their face. But if they are not, then let's explore the wonderful gift that God has given us in the midst of the carrying-out of His immutable will: the bubble of ignorance.
