In the book of Job, a man named Elihu rhapsodizes over God's great works—including His works of breaking ("evil")—and says, "Stand and consider the marvelous works of El." ("El" is a Hebrew title of God; it means, "Subjector.")
Every one of us has been broken in some way, or in multiple ways. I currently cannot feel half of my face due to cancer surgery. And yet, in the midst of this, I can STAND (not hide, not cower) and consider this one of "the marvelous works of El."
This video begins weak but ends strong. I
was in a lot of pain and did not want to make a show. Yet once I began reading from the book of Job, the marvelous works of El set me on fire in a good way. The pain did not subside, but the glories of God crowded it out.
You will see me take a sip of whiskey at the beginning of this show. This is my first sip of alcohol in months. I drank nothing
before the show. Whatever I am drinking, you are watching it on air. (I believe I took a total of three sips.) I tell you this to assure you that the loosening of my spirit as this video progresses is not a result of liquid spirit, but of the spirit of God. I tell you this to assure you of it, because it is the truth.
Grace, peace, and love. As we
suffer together, we shall be glorified together.
