I was accused by my friend The Pirate (Mark Haukaas) in Friday's comment section of exhibiting Pope-like characteristics by mentioning my 33-year track record of consistent teaching, that is, I have not tortured my audience with any tectonic doctrinal shifts over three decades and counting. I think I am more
deserving of the title "Steady Eddy" than "Pope Martin," but you be the judge.
I barely get into Mark's comments and my response in this broadcast because I spent some well-invested time laying the foundations of solid and secure teachings and why it's so important to be steady and true. Mark states that he hopes I will "reverse course in major
teachings." Really? Ugh, THAT'S disappointing. Do you folks really want to tune into tomorrow's MZTV and hear me say, "Well, I was wrong, ladies and gentlemen. Looks like God is going to torment most of His creation for eternity after all."
The formula—if you will—behind consistent and correct teaching had to be laid, and you will appreciate the effort.
The opening strains of Mark's comment are read and commented upon, but the remainder went into the doggie bag. Tomorrow, you will hear Mr. Haukaas accuse me of donning a self-made halo. I will admit to having a halo (as you will hear tomorrow), but it is not of the variety of headgear one sees on the pages of Catholic propaganda. It is a halo bestowed upon me by God and Christ. It is bloodied, dirty, and bent, but it is nevertheless a token of the approval of my Father for remaining true to laws
of language and rules of Scriptural interpretation. If my detractors would do the same, then maybe they could get a holy headpiece as nice as mine.
