I do not ask this question in the title for the shock value. I am asking for the purpose of making sure we base our beliefs on Scripture and not on our flimsy and unreliable emotions.
Paul's gospel is about believing Paul’s gospel. Do you see any other way in Scriptures INTO the body of Christ except for believing that evangel? And even this can only happen if one has been designated beforehand to believe the evangel.
It is obvious that babies cannot yet believe the evangel. Again I ask: Is there any other path to
eonian life, in either evangel, apart from believing? Please try to find one for me.
You may say it’s not fair that babies can’t believe. But let me ask you: what is the difference between a baby who can’t believe and a 50 year-old man who can’t believe? Neither has been designated beforehand for membership in the body of Christ. If so, then they would
have lived long enough to believe. But not even the 80 year-old has "lived long enough to believe" if said person has not designated beforehand by God to believe.
This, of course, does not mean that the baby and the 50-year-old man (or the 80 year-old) are not saved. We know that everyone comes to God eventually through the saving power of Christ's
cross.
It's is all about timing. It is about timing—and sticking to the Word of God no matter what.
