I am presenting to you today a piece of evidence from a conference in Vancouver, Washington from the fall of 2014 that will demonstrate the terrible result of unlawfully over-extending an extended metaphor.
I take no pleasure in presenting this. I once made this mistake myself. But I thank God that I learned to interpret Ephesians 5:25-33 correctly before writing a book. Unfortunately, Mr. Pilkington has codified his mistake in a book called, "Wife Loving."
Better that the book should be titled, "Wife
Enabling." These principles, believed and—worse, followed—will turn wives into selfish and complacent users, while husbands take upon themselves a burden that even the author calls, "humanly impossible."
I apologize that the sound and video become out of synch in this video. I spilled coffee on my main computer and apparently ruined it, so I had to
resurrect my old computer, and the way I have to put things together is different. The bad thing is, I don't know how this happened and thus I don't know how to prevent the same thing from happening tomorrow.
