We learned about a brand of first-century agitator called “the Judaizer” in the letter to the Galatians, when some from the Israel gospel (the Circumcision) snuck into Paul’s ecclesia and seduced the grace-believers into thinking that, even though they had begun in spirit, they now had to be perfected in
flesh. When Paul got wind of the defection from full-on grace and full-on spirit to ANY message of fleshly perfection, his holy anger activated and he blasted that ecclesia for their susceptibility to the Judaizers.
We have modern Judaizers today in Johnny and Kaitlin Greene. They are doing precisely what their first-century counterparts did: elbowing
into grace-only ecclesias, shaming the believers therein for thinking that grace covers ALL sins, and challenging them to perfect (or at least improve) themselves by feeling sorry for their failings and then repenting of them. Only then, goes the popular lie, will God truly be happy with them.
Even though Johnny and Kaitlin are my friends, I am calling
out these modern-day Judaizers for what they are: agitators who fail to grasp the height, breadth, and depth of Paul’s gospel. Hell, they don’t even believe Paul’s gospel exists. To them, there is only one gospel, and it is the “narrow way” spoken of by Jesus in Matthew chapter seven in the Sermon on the Mount. There, our Lord told the Jews that if they did not forgive others, neither would their heavenly Father forgive them.
“Probational forgiveness.” This is the only gospel known by Johnny and Kaitlin Greene. Indeed, this is the Israel gospel. If only this father/daughter team stayed in their lane and kept within the Circumcision walls—but no. They force their conditional salvation into Paul’s gospel, trying to convince anyone who will listen that Paul, too, taught a salvation contingent upon works.
The message of Johnny and Kaitlin Greene is anathema. It is cursed. May all who hear it summarily reject it. May all who hear it pray that God will deliver the Greenes out of this dangerous deception.
STOP MIXING THE TWO GOSPELS.
