Welcome to a two-for-one MZTV special here on Thursday, beginning with the great lesson I learned after what God did to my great toe yesterday, and ending with Paul in Athens highlighting what would seem to be the most outrageous religious pedestal he saw in Athens.
Well, I wasn't too happy with God yesterday when the stool fell on my already-messed-up toe, but this produced endurance—just as Paul promised it would (Romans 5:3). And funny thing: I can hardly remember the pain, but the endurance has stayed with me. Quite a lesson here!
Meanwhile, back in Athens, Paul notices a pedestal inscribed "To the Unknowable God." What he says next is astounding and, as I'm commenting upon it, you can watch me come to a live realization concerning why first-century Athenian philosophers are actually wiser than modern-day Christians.
