Paul told the Athenian philosophers on Mars' Hill that God is not attended by human hands. Some of the philosophers might have countered with, "But what about your religion in Jerusalem? It's all ABOUT human hands attending your Deity. Your Deity demands." At which point Paul would have said, "I'm laying
absolute truth on you people. Not even the Jews are not acquainted with the absolute God. Absolutely speaking, God needs nothing from anyone."
Remember from last week—the Greek word translated "attended" is "therapeuo," from which we get our English "therapy." So no, we are not God's therapists. But guess what? He is ours.
