Good morning, fellow members of the body of Christ. Love from the peninsula.
Man, these are good shows. We are back with the Hebrews Series and learning more than mere human beings ought to be allowed to learn–yet it delights God to give us the keys to such wisdom that would even understand the opposing evangel, looking into secrets there that will
even help us better understand our gospel.
In the first three minutes of Show #10, you will be treated to probably the best Woody Allen imitation I've ever done. Man, I wish I could get back to that level of competency. But one does what one can.
In 2013, when these shows were recorded in Windber, Pennsylvania, I was enduring an extremely difficult emotional time and, most of the time, wishing I were dead. But I chose to keep living with the help of wine,
M&Ms, and broadcasting to the saints. The first ten minutes of this show is me pleading with the saints—you—to not give up. It's pretty inspiring. While I'm pleading with the saints, I'm also pleading with myself. I share the times in this life, in this work, when I felt like quitting. I hope this helps someone who is in a similar strait today. I'm not saying I never feel like checking out today, but just that it was acute back in 2013.
At eleven minutes I finally get into
the Scriptures, explaining why the King James Version of, "The kingdom of heaven is not coming with observation" is a bad translation. That rendering makes one think that there will not be an outward, visible, political kingdom upon this earth, headed by Israel. But alas, there WILL be such a kingdom. Alas again (no surprise), the KJV botched this translation. When you get the right rendering from the CLNT, you see the truth.
Show #11 begins with some commentary on the 70's
movie Jesus Christ Superstar—one of my favorites. I talk about Herod's Song and about the women who ministered to Christ. The wine is speaking beautifully, even eloquently. (But don't expect much from my singing.)
Key points from this show:
** We are called TO heaven, while the Hebrews are addressed FROM heaven.”
** Paul is graduating the Hebrews from Moses to Jesus Christ. It's a tough sell, but our boy is making them think.
** Paul draws a comparison
between the wilderness embitterment back in the OT days, and the current condition of the Hebrews. "Don't be embittered as THEY were embittered," is the apostle's advice.
This presentation ends with a tip of the hat to OUR evangel: our union with Christ is much closer than Israel's. They are the bride, yes. The bride stands next to the groom. But we are the BODY of Christ, yes, we are the substance of the groom. It is a much more intimate relationship with the Savior than even
that enjoyed by Israel.
I like what I say here, concerning the comparison: while a marriage can dissolve, Christ cannot divorce Himself. We, as the body of Christ, are HIM. He cannot divorce Himself.
Is that a high point, or what?
Thanks to all of you who have contributed to keep this work and its worker afloat. Your generosity is legendary in that it reverberates throughout the heavens. God keeps me going through you, and this continues to
be a miracle every month. So thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I know who you are, and God certainly does. Everything helps, believe me. Well---I'm sure you already know that.
Grace, peace, and love to you all. Enjoy the show!
