After having convinced most of you last week that Paul's gospel announcement is articulated, first and foremost, as a personal gospel ("Christ died for our sins") for personal salvation, I will now tell you that, following the personal revelation, an extended belief in the false teaching of Eternal Torment
would be—to me—a sign of feigned faith.
No one receiving a legitimate understanding that it is Christ Jesus's faith that saves and not one's own, can tolerate the teaching of Eternal Torment for long; it is illogical. So while an understanding of the Salvation of All is not required at the moment of revelation, it is a natural and unavoidable outcome of
Paul's gospel. We should not expect it from a fellow Body member at the moment of belief, but should certainly look for it soon after. If it does not come? One would then have to question the validity of the supposed unhanding of one's own righteousness.
