"New Teachings" are exciting—until one verse wrecks the fantasy.

In this case, the one verse is Acts 25:3, where the CLNT translates "charis" ("grace") as "favor." The "new teaching" which says that grace means joy, dies on contact. Yet the proper definition, "unmerited favor" shines forth—not only in this context but EVERY context.

This is what will always happen when we let a Greek word speak for itself.
