Greetings, members of the body of Christ,
Rodney found this one in the "groove-yard" of Greatest Hits. It's a video from June of 2009, recorded in Youngwood, PA.
Jean Douglas recorded this. The sound is not the greatest. as this was part of a conference held in a church that was over 200 years old and there was also a 200 year-old
echo, but Rodney has tweaked it so that you get the gist of it.
You wouldn't know it from watching, but this was the worst time of my life. My wife had just abandoned our marriage two months before. I am coming from a place of devastation and heartache. But the thing that has always saved me from emotional trauma of all kind is the work. Concentrating on the work. Focusing on Christ and what Christ has called me to do. I don't mean to make it a selfish thing, but the work (I'm
tempted to capitalize it: The Work) has saved me body, soul, and spirit, many times.
The topic is one that I've been teaching steadily since 2000: What is a Believer.
I am currently in Lima, Peru. We experienced a 6.4 earthquake last night; I'll tell you more on Monday's show, which I will record today. I'm getting all my equipment transported here from her mom's in La Molina and getting everything set up. You know how I feel about it; the show must go
on.
Rodney did a good job cleaning up the audio of today's video; it was a lot worse, believe me. Joe Gardner hosted this one-day conference. Joe was a great friend for years and then he joined up with the Kingdom message. Dropped me like so many dropped Paul. Another casualty of being blown about by every wind of teaching was Joe.
Ted McDivitt, the guy giving the opening prayer, abandoned the sovereignty of God, taking up with Open Theism, i.e. God is
finding out what will happen next right along with His creation.
They are dropping and have been dropping like Exodus flies. The apostasy continues. It's shocking, but it happened in the first century also. Nothing new. Philosophy is a seductive mistress.
Thank you for helping me all these years to keep the message going strong and pure. Strong and pure. When I made this video, I had been heralding full time for 16 years. It has now been 17 years since this
message was recorded in Pennsylvania. I continue because of you. Thank you for your continued generosity.
Jean Douglas is no longer with us. He died a few years ago; very young. Not sure what happened. What a faithful soldier he was. His role was always a supportive one. He was a great friend to me and my family. He faithfully traveled thousands of miles over a period of fifteen years, driving in his giant, ancient Cadillac and smoking his Swisher Sweet cigars, recording
dozens upon dozens of conferences and painstakingly reproducing and distributing them on tape so that those who could not attend conferences could be blessed by the proceedings. WHAT A SOLDIER! A humble, steady soldier for Christ. Unlike those I have described, Jean Douglas never wavered as to the truth. Christ kept him steady as a rock hewn from the mountains of his native Georgia. He is missed. I can't wait to see his reward for service at the dais of Christ.
I am remaining
yours from south of the equator,
Martin
