You will learn two very important things today. 1) the figure of speech known as "Retention," in which an adjective is retained to describe something to which the adjective no longer applies but to which it very recently applied, and 2) the source of all miracles.
Spoiler alert: 1) the source of all miracles is spirit, not sound.
2) The figure of Retention explains terms such as "new Covenant," "uncicrumcision," and phrases such as "the deaf shall hear" and "the dead in Christ shall rise first." Israel's new covenant is not a literal covenant; the dead can't hear anything, and the dead can't rise.
Welcome to the wonderful world of figures of speech and spirit.
