We all know that death is an enemy. But there is one way in which death comes to our aid: our old humanity is considered to have died with Christ.
The dead, although
dead, have some advantages over the living: no one expects anything from them. They are not hounded to help anyone, or themselves. They are not criticized. No one is disappointed in them. They are not disappointed in themselves. They don't worry about a single thing. And, even more importantly, Johnny Greene doesn't hound them to repent for the saving of their souls.
What if we could enjoy these benefits WHILE ALIVE? Well, ladies and gentlemen, we can. This is on of the remarkable benefits of Paul's gospel, and it comes to us ONLY through Paul's gospel: our old humanity is considered to have died with Christ. Even our apostle says in Galatians 2:20, "I died."
The curiosity—the anomaly, if you
will—is that we are still alive. How can we, while still living, benefit from all the anti-hassles and non-requirements "enjoyed" by the dead?
That is the subject of this show—and I do think this qualifies as groundbreaking information.
I'm telling you, Paul's gospel is the gift that keeps giving.
