What could be a more worthy topic of discussion than Jesus Christ and His glories? I know that some might be tired of hearing about it, but every day we learn of some new greatness belonging to Christ.
Is this ever discussed in any
church anywhere in the world? No. They talk about Jesus at Christmas and Easter, but as soon as they get Him off the cross, they put Him back in the manger—over and over again, year after year. In-between, they talk only about themselves and they ways in which they either please or fail Jesus.
For those who are tired of the phrase "pre-existence
of Christ" and "non pre-existence of Christ," I have a better way to frame this argument. In fact, I have two better ways.
1) This is an argument over whether Christ created everything or Christ created nothing.
2) This is an argument over whether Christ was the first Being created by God, or whether Satan occupies that esteemed honor.
Was every false god—and even Satan himself—created before the One called in Revelation 3:14, "the Origin of the creation of God," and in Colossians "the Firstborn of every creature (Colossians 1:15), Who is "before all" (Colossians 1:17)? Or does that position belong to Christ? Did all come "out of God and through Christ" (1 Corinthians 8:6), or did all come
out of God while NOTHING came through Christ?
Perhaps now you can see—even more clearly than before—why this topic is so valuable. Don't you think we honor the Lord Jesus Christ by mining the depths of His glories? And don't you think it's a worthy and necessary task to shut the mouths of those wishing to diminish those glories with positive
declarations from God's Word?
Finally, we need to see these sects creeping into the body of Christ as God gracing us with the same struggles the first-century believers endured, including the apostle Paul. How else can iron sharpen iron? How else can those faithful in the Word be found to be approved if there are no sects booby-trapping the truth?
Folks, God is doing this for us, not to us.
