I guarantee you'll never hear an argument this unintelligent for why Christ supposedly never existed until Bethlehem. This is not an exaggeration.
Paul tells the
Philippians in 2:1-8 to have the same disposition Christ had when He emptied Himself of the form of God to take the form of a slave, subsequently humbling Himself to the death of the cross. Obviously (at least I thought it was obvious), Paul wants the Philippians (and us) to have the same KIND of humble attitude as Christ—obviously not the same degree of it. You know, something like: Sacrifice a little bit of your career to take care of your sick husband.
This is how NORMAL people read this passage.
The Tories, on the other hand, shocked that Paul might be telling the saints to become celestial beings themselves and then get themselves crucified, decide that Paul can't possibly be telling them
that, and therefore, based on their private (and whacked-out) interpretations of Philippians 2:1-8, determine that Christ never emptied Himself of the form of God in the first place.
Let's review: There is no way we could possibly duplicate Christ's celestial emptying, therefore Christ never emptied Himself.
These people are so daft it takes them 3 hours to watch 60 Minutes.
