None of Jesus' disciples died in their sleep. We know that our Lord experienced a terrifying death. The book of Hebrews mentions those who underwent severe trial rather than denounce the Lord Who bought them.
That's all the Circumcision gospel. We don't experience any of these troubles. This is because Paul reveals to us that we do not come into conflict with the civil authorities. We know that the superior authorities—even the evil ones–have been set under God (Romans 13:1) and that he who withstands a superior authority has withstood God's mandate (Romans 13:2). This means that we never have to defend our faith against a civil authority.
Paul's tells us to be subject to the superior authorities, both good and evil. But especially evil. It the authorities of this context are not evil, the context makes no sense. This means that if a superior (civil) authority told me to either stop producing MZTV or be crucified upside down, well, sorry, but I'd have to go back to writing the ZWTF. I like
living vertically with no nails in my extremities. (I feel like I have enough problems right now.)
It was different during the early Acts administration. This is because Paul's gospel of conciliation had not yet begun.
This for this, and that for that. We are living in a relatively good time.
