Dear Fellow Believers,
SHOW 42
Here are three shows from the Hebrews series of 2013, recorded originally as audio-only, but with video added by Rodney Paris of Texas, which is a pleasant way to consume the truth.
As I listen to these shows for the first time in thirteen years, I am impressed that the truth has not changed
(of course it hasn't), but that, from my perspective, my take on the truth has not changed. This is because before I even started this work I understood basic principles of logic, of figures of speech, of rules of Scriptural interpretation, of laws of language. This is the very reason why I have changed no major position over a period of 33 years.
We are the most important people to God today. This may sound boastful, but this is in accord with God's delight, not ours. We are
the detainer, as you know. That is, our presence on the earth detains the man of lawlessness. In addition, we keep Israel from being completed. God does not take up with Israel again until the body of Christ is snatched away. This ought to make you feel rather important—though the world does not recognize you.
Unregretted are the graces and calling of God. Once God chooses you, He does not unchoose you. You can't be unchosen by God. And He called us in our worst condition, not
in our best. So there's nothing we can do now—no bad behavior, even—that can remove us from the body of Christ.
At the beginning of SHOW 43 I talk about editing the short film we made in 2013 with Cindy McCoy, "Fake Jesus." If you haven't seen it, please put "MZTV Fake Jesus" into the YouTube search box. It's a worthwhile watch. At the time, I was editing this film. It was a tough job. Steve and Laura Johnston were visiting us in Windber, PA, and I'm complaining in this show
about all the fun I'm missing out on because I'm stuck with this big editing job. I even refused to go on a world cruise to Rome, Athens, Jerusalem, Ephesus, and other amazing places—compliments of Anne Brechtelsbauer—in order to continue my work in the evangel.
What I didn't miss at all was the bowling outing. That is, I didn't miss that I missed it.
The Scriptural highlight of this show, I suppose, is the explanation of Romans 11:32.
SHOW 44
starts with the Titanic analogy, which I think is one of the best analogies to describe this era. There era smells of fresh paint, is large, seems safe, but it is sinking fast. Escape lies within those small, wooden boats being lowered 10 stories by ropes into a freezing ocean. It was hard to get onto the lifeboats because the still brightly-lit and warm Titanic seemed like the safest place to be. But it was the most dangerous place to be.
Likewise today. The world seems like
it's going to go on forever. But it's not. It has been targeted by God for destruction. In a sense, the "iceberg" has already "struck" this eon. God has doomed it. The "lifeboat" is Paul's gospel.
God loves to be believed and worshipped. That's about it. Trying to impress Him is futile because He's already done His best for us at our worst.
As impressive as the old Israelite system was, it did not bring folks closer to God. Paul's gospel does
that.
I thank God for all of your who help me to continue to publish Paul's gospel, even after these 33 years. I hope we're near the end. I think we are. I am a weary soldier. But you keep me going with your comments, your prayers, and your financial contributions to this work—without which the work could not continue. As I've said many times, this is a grassroots operation of the people, by the people, and for the people. I'm just one of the people, but God has given me
certain gifts to be able to broadcast these truths and get people interested in them. My channel just recently hit 5 million total views. This is amazing. It has taken 18 years on YouTube to do this, because it happens one video at a time. It has taken over 3,700 videos to do this. But it is a testimony to my tenacity AND YOURS, in your support of me and this work. I can hardly express my thankfulness for all of you.
I am writing this on Sunday morning in Ft. Lauderdale,
having arrived home from Lima, Peru last evening with my wife. I am thankful for safe passage and a trip full of significant happenings.
Grace, peace, love, and thanksgiving to all of you from the edge of the bottom of the Floridan peninsula once again,
Martin
