When does God ever leave us for long in our comfort zones? It's a rhetorical question. But why does He push us out of these zones so often? For the sake of growth.
If it were up to us, we would never leave our familiar nests. This can lead only to stagnation. There is no growth apart from stretching ourselves beyond our perceived limits. Our perceived limits are nowhere near our actual limits. It becomes a matter of a circumstance, then—extraordinary circumstances that tap our undiscovered inner resources.
No pain, no gain. I'm afraid this familiar saying is true.
Today's show is, again, about Thursday's run, but now it has become something more. It has become an analogy of spiritual growth, of comfort vs. risk, and stagnation vs. revelation.
I'm more than happy to be God's guinea pig.
