Our apostle tells us that, when it comes to the day of our Lord and the snatching away, we are NOT in darkness but rather are children of the light (1 Thessalonians 5:4-5). This flies in the face of those telling us we're all crazy for anticipating the return of Christ in the clouds.
In this episode of MZTV, I teach on the first few verses Paul lays out in 1 Thessalonians 5, right after his famous description of the snatching away. We too often overlook this helpful passage.
But first, I deal with the few who are
criticizing me for criticizing Clyde Pilkington. In the end, their criticisms are soulish and ungrammatical. The basic premise is, "Clyde took you in when you were in need, so how can you possibly be criticizing his teaching?"—as though these two things are even remotely related—and, "Everyone is going to be together at the Consummation anyway, so why get so upset?"
I'm so happy that some people have the luxury of hanging their hammock at the consummation of the universe at the end of Eon 5, when God is "all in all"—many thousands of years from now—but in the meantime, some of us realists are here stuck at the end of Eon 3, being called by God to expose, rebuke, and entreat (2 Timothy 4:2) so as to bring the ecclesia to maturity and protect it from fatal error. You know—kinda like Paul was. We're living in the same era as Paul. You?
You're lounging on your hammock sipping a pina colada at an "All in all" that is thousands of years away. Everybody on the same page there? Great! It's not so peachy-keen down here at the end of Eon 3.
To my detractors: This is why I'm on MY side of the camera, and you're on your side. You have no burden whatsoever for the nature of my work, that is,
for what God has called me to do at this time in eonian history.
In the meantime, I hope you're sipping your cool beverage there in your hammock at the Consummation (is there an umbrella in your drink?) while the rest of us are putting on the armor of God (Ephesians 6) protecting ourselves from the attacks of the Adversary in the evil day.
